Julia booked her first Network film at the age of 18 . However, she took a break from her acting career to work as a volunteer in Kenya, East Africa with the African Children's Choir where she set up their training program and did relief and development in the Southern Sudan and Rwanda after the 1994 Genocide. Returning home to the states she moved to NYC and successfully worked for many years in Film and TV. She and her husband Van now raise their two children in Austin, Texas, where she continues to work as a director, writer, actress and producer. Her first short film, "Chasing Grace" premiered at SXSW. Julia also has a TV show in development with a notable network as well as several feature film scripts. Her first book for the middle-grade fiction anthology, The Tomorrow Children will be released in 2022. She also continues her philanthropic work as Chief Creative Officer for the African Children's Choir, writing and producing fundraising and special events for them.
